Sacheon-si Makes Every Effort to Manage Health Against Cold Waves for Vulnerable Groups
To Minimize Cold Wave Damage for Elderly Living Alone and Disabled People
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam will conduct home visits for health management to minimize cold wave damage among vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone and people with disabilities.
According to the Public Health Center on the 20th, a visiting health team will be formed to directly visit local residents, including elderly living alone and people with disabilities who are vulnerable to winter cold waves, until March 15 next year.
The visiting health team will focus all efforts on health management to prepare for cold waves among vulnerable groups by providing cold wave prevention education and guidance on health management rules for cold-related illnesses.
They will also measure basic health indicators such as blood pressure and blood sugar to check health status and provide customized home health management services, including education on health management methods to prepare for cold waves.
In particular, to help ensure a healthy and warm winter, winter protection items (such as socks and gloves) will be provided to about 1,000 elderly people aged 65 and over and people with disabilities.
