Donation of Full Participation Fee Scholarship to Gwangyang Haetsal School

On the 19th, Sarasil Art Village in Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do announced that it donated the entire participation fee from the ‘Sarasil Art Camping’ held on the 11th as a scholarship to Gwangyang Haetsal School.

‘Sarasil Art Camping,’ which was attended by about 140 families from Gwangyang, took place over two days on October 21 and 22. Participants pitched tents on the Sarasil Art Village playground and enjoyed games, experiences, performances, and food, receiving great support from local residents.

Sarasil Art Village charged a participation fee of 5,000 KRW per family and donated the profits generated over the two days as scholarships to Gwangyang Haetsal School located in Okryong-myeon, supporting students’ stable educational environment and dreams.

Jo Nam-jun, principal of Gwangyang Haetsal School, said, “We are grateful for the donation made for the students during these difficult times. It is even more meaningful that the citizens’ support is being used as scholarships.”

He added, “Our school will also do its best to help students realize their dreams and hopes by receiving the warm hearts of Sarasil Art Village.”

Jo Joo-hyun, director of Sarasil Art Village, said, “Charging a minimal participation fee at cultural and artistic program events is not for profit but because the value created through the creation, delivery, and exchange of culture and arts reproduces the value of cultural and artistic activities again. We plan to use the profits generated from participation fees and other sources for the local community in the name of Gwangyang citizens.”

Meanwhile, Sarasil Art Village and Haetsal School in Gwangyang-si signed a business agreement on the 6th to establish an organic cooperative system through cultural and artistic projects in school spaces, support for educational activities in the cultural and artistic fields, and planning and promoting various cultural and artistic education projects.
