Handonghun: "I Have Lived Pursuing Only Public Good in Public Service... Never Blindly Followed Anyone"
Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, said on the 19th, "Throughout my public service career, I have lived by one standard: to pursue the public good," adding, "I have never blindly followed anyone, and I will not do so in the future."
Minister Han, who visited the National Assembly to attend the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, made these remarks during a meeting with reporters in response to their criticism that the Democratic Party of Korea calls him a "Yoon Seok-yeol avatar." He said, "I believe all public officials and politicians should cooperate for the people," adding, "It seems that the Democratic Party mainly makes that claim (about the Yoon avatar), but since they blindly follow and absolutely obey their leader Lee Jae-myung, they seem to think everyone else does the same."
Regarding being mentioned as a candidate for the new emergency response committee chairman of the People Power Party, he said, "I have not received any proposals," avoiding a direct answer. He added, "I don't think it is appropriate for me to publicly comment on a specific party or the composition of the emergency response committee."
However, while avoiding direct questions about the emergency response committee, Minister Han addressed criticisms about his lack of political experience by saying, "I will share my general thoughts," and added, "At first, none of the paths in the world were really paths. When many people walk together, it becomes a path." He continued, "I believe real crises often come not from lack of experience but from over-calculating and being overly cautious."
Regarding the controversy over luxury bags owned by Kim Geon-hee, wife of President Yoon, he said, "I don't understand why people think I would be in a difficult position if asked about this," adding, "If you look at the details, it is indeed a hidden camera conspiracy. Seoul's Sound reported it, and it will proceed according to law and principles."

On the special prosecutor investigation into Kim Geon-hee, he said, "It will be passed on by the National Assembly, so it is not an issue for me to comment on," but added, "There should be no exceptions before the law. The public should see it that way as well." He further stated, "The special prosecutor law is a malicious law created with a specific timing to facilitate the Democratic Party's propaganda and agitation for the next general election," and said, "Such malicious laws infringe on the people's legitimate right to choose and should be considered within the National Assembly's procedures."
