Yujin Investment & Securities Sponsors Emerging Artists with Seoul Museum of Art
Eugene Investment & Securities announced on the 19th that it has carried out the 'Emerging Artist Art Souvenir Production Support Project' in collaboration with the Seoul Museum of Art to popularize contemporary art and support young artists.
This is a social contribution program that discovers outstanding emerging artists and supports the production of art souvenirs reflecting the artist's creative world. Since last September, the two organizations have cooperated in all areas, including artist discovery, art souvenir planning, and production.
Eugene Investment & Securities and the Seoul Museum of Art launched this project to widely promote the diverse artistic worlds of young artists who are bringing a fresh breeze to the art scene and to help the public become more familiar with contemporary art through art souvenirs.
The first artist selected for the project was Kwon Jung-mo. Born in 1982, Kwon Jung-mo is a lighting designer and contemporary artist who contemporarily reinterprets Hanji, a traditional Korean paper. Inspired by the windows of Hanok houses that let in light during the day and emit light at night, he has built a unique artistic world of "sculptures and lighting using Hanji."
Through the project, Kwon Jung-mo produced a limited edition of 200 art souvenir 'lighting' pieces earlier this month. The Seoul Museum of Art plans to actively utilize these art souvenirs in various projects that embody the purpose of expanding the base and popularization of contemporary art.
Eugene Investment & Securities collaborated with the Seoul Museum of Art to hold the 'Eugene Art Check-in' event linked to the '12th Seoul Mediacity Biennale' for three months starting last September. This event was implemented to support exhibitions and expand the base of contemporary art, and among the participants, five people selected by lottery were awarded Kwon Jung-mo's 'lighting' art souvenirs.
