Seoul Gangseo-gu 'Yeomchang-dong Youth Culture House Construction Resident Briefing Session' Held
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) held a 'Yeomchang-dong Youth Culture House Construction Resident Briefing Session' at 3 p.m. on the 18th in the auditorium of Yeomchang-dong Community Center.
The district organized this briefing session to enhance understanding of the Youth Culture House construction and to gather diverse opinions for a high-quality project implementation.
The briefing was attended by about 90 people, including District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon, youth, and local residents, and proceeded in the order of ▲project progress report ▲design details guidance ▲Q&A session.
The district plans to demolish the old building that previously housed the youth study room and Yeomchang Police Substation, and create a youth complex cultural space equipped with various facilities such as education and culture on the site.
The basic design is scheduled to be completed by October 2024. The target completion date is 2026. The total project cost is approximately 6.4 billion KRW, and the building will be constructed with a total floor area of about 1,083㎡, consisting of one basement floor and six above-ground floors.
The basement will include dance and band practice rooms, while the above-ground floors will feature a cafeteria, multi-purpose lounge, club rooms, study rooms, autonomous rest areas, and lecture rooms.

District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “We will listen carefully to every voice of the residents to address any shortcomings so that the Yeomchang-dong Youth Culture House can be built as a place that children and youth can truly feel connected to,” and added, “We will thoroughly manage the project so that it can establish itself as an educational and cultural institution and a healing space for children and youth.”
