Gwangju Dong-gu Accelerates Efforts to Create a Sustainable Healthy City
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City is accelerating its efforts by holding the '2023 Dong-gu Healthy City Advisory Committee' to build a sustainable healthy city through expert consultations.
At the meeting held on the 18th, more than 20 multidisciplinary expert committee members, including Dong-gu Mayor Im Taek, attended to share the progress and plans for the '2023 Dong-gu Healthy City and Korea Healthy Cities Partnership (KHCP)' and discussed key issues regarding the development direction of Dong-gu as a healthy city next year and the establishment of a smart healthy city.
To create a 'Healthy City Dong-gu,' the district is leading the implementation of a healthy city by regularly holding the Healthy City Advisory Committee, preparing a mid- to long-term development plan profile for the healthy city, conducting health demand surveys among Dong-gu residents, operating a Healthy City Children’s School, and running single-person dining restaurants. Additionally, as the 9th Chair City of Korea, Dong-gu directly operates the secretariat to spearhead the realization of a healthy city.
