Yeosu City Opens Jeonnam's First Special Commercial Hydrogen Charging Station
The Third Hydrogen Charging Station in Yeosu Future Innovation District
Expected to Boost Commercial Vehicle Adoption Including Hydrogen Buses
Jeonnam's first special-purpose hydrogen charging station, the 'Yeosu Jusam Kohyizen Hydrogen Charging Station,' has opened within the Yeosu Future Innovation District (Samdong 2-gil 30).
The 'Yeosu Jusam Kohyizen Hydrogen Charging Station' was established by the private company Kohyizen Co., Ltd., which was selected in the Ministry of Environment's 2021 public project, investing a total of 8 billion KRW including 4.2 billion KRW in national funds. The operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., totaling 8 hours a day. With a charging capacity of 300 kg/hr, it can charge up to 15 hydrogen buses (20 kg each) and 60 passenger cars (5 kg each) per hour.
With the establishment of this charging station, the number of hydrogen charging stations operating in Yeosu has expanded to three, including the first 'Hynet SPG Yeosu Hydrogen Charging Station' and the second 'Hynet Yeosu Dundeok Hydrogen Charging Station.' This is expected to greatly contribute to Yeosu City's policy to expand hydrogen vehicle distribution and improve convenience for hydrogen vehicle users.
Meanwhile, Yeosu City has supplied about 500 hydrogen passenger cars to date, and plans to supply an additional 150 hydrogen passenger cars and 15 hydrogen buses in 2024. Accordingly, additional hydrogen charging stations will be constructed.
