Dunamu NextJob Hosts 'Ice Sports Career Exploration' Event for Youth Preparing for Independence
Dunamu, the operator of the virtual asset exchange Upbit, announced on the 18th that it held an 'Ice Skating Sports Career Exploration Event' for young people at the 4th round of the 2023-2024 International Skating Union (ISU) Short Track World Cup.
The Ice Skating Sports Career Exploration Event was planned as part of Dunamu Next JOB activities, which support job opportunities to help young people preparing for independence dream of various career paths and settle into society. Young people preparing for independence are those who turn 18 and officially become independent after leaving child care facilities or other protective institutions. Dunamu invited 20 young people preparing for independence from child care facilities who are interested in employment in sports-related fields, providing them with opportunities to experience various jobs related to the operation of international ice skating sports competitions.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Hugo Herrnhof, an Italian short track Olympic gold medalist and currently the head of ISU short track events. Participating youth were able to closely observe various facilities such as the heat box (pre-competition preparation area), referee platform, and video review room, gaining specialized knowledge for each part of competition operation.
In particular, they met various sports-related professionals who are usually difficult to encounter, such as ▲sports video experts ▲game recorders ▲referees ▲sports directors and coaches ▲ice quality managers, and broadened their understanding of careers by hearing vivid on-site experiences.
A Dunamu official said, “The Ice Skating Sports Career Exploration Event was held to enhance the understanding of job roles for young people preparing for independence who have dreams in sports-related fields but face difficulties in career choices. We hope this opportunity helped them identify their potential capabilities and explore jobs that suit their personal aptitudes.”

Meanwhile, Dunamu is sponsoring the 2023-24 ISU Short Track World Cup and the ISU Short Track Four Continents Championships from October this year to February next year to expand the base of less popular sports and raise the status of Korean sports.
