US: "North Korean Ballistic Missile Violates Security Council Resolution, Threatens Neighboring Countries"
The U.S. administration under Joe Biden condemned North Korea on the 17th (local time) for launching short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea, stating that it "has destabilized regional security."
The U.S. Department of State condemned "North Korea's ballistic missile launches," adding that "this launch, like other ballistic missile launches by North Korea this year, violates multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions."
It further pointed out that "it poses a threat to North Korea's neighbors and undermines regional security." The State Department also emphasized, "We remain committed to a diplomatic approach toward North Korea and urge North Korea to engage in dialogue," and stressed that "our defense commitments to South Korea and Japan are ironclad."
