Daehan Mothers' Association Gumi Branch, 'Delivering Hope to Children with a Mother's Heart'
Scholarships of 6 Million Won for Grandparent-Grandchild and Youth-Headed Families
On the 13th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held the 2023 regular general meeting and scholarship award ceremony at the Wonnam Saemaeul Geumgo headquarters, hosted by the Korea Mothers' Association Gumi Branch, with about 40 members and sponsors in attendance.
Scholarships totaling 6 million KRW were awarded, with 500,000 KRW given to each of 12 households, including grandparent-grandchild families and youth families recommended through towns, townships, and neighborhoods. The Korea Mothers' Association Gumi Branch also reviewed its activities over the past year and held an awards ceremony for outstanding members.
Kim Se-in, president of the Korea Mothers' Association Gumi Branch, said, “Over the past year, we have strived to promote sharing and volunteering for the socially vulnerable with the warm hearts of mothers. I am pleased to be able to deliver hope to students through today's scholarships, and we will continue to embrace neighbors in need with a mother's heart.”
Park Kyung-ha, Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, expressed gratitude to the members of the Korea Mothers' Association Gumi Branch who have led efforts to serve the community and nurture future talents throughout the year, and urged them to continue working together for a Gumi City that embraces new hope and takes a leap forward.

Established in September 2014, the Korea Mothers' Association Gumi Branch celebrated its 9th anniversary this year and has 47 active members. Every year, it consistently provides scholarships to grandparent-grandchild families and others, and carries out various volunteer activities for vulnerable groups, including parent education and childbirth promotion campaigns.
