On the 14th, SK Group held a delivery ceremony for the 'SK Happy Sharing Kimchi' at Haengboknarae, a social enterprise established by SK. SK purchased 25,000 heads of kimchi made by three social enterprises and plans to deliver them to 600 social welfare institutions and vulnerable groups nationwide through the Food Sharing Movement Council (Food Sharing Council). The Food Sharing Council is a food-sharing organization jointly operated by the Jogye Order Social Welfare Foundation, Busuragi Love Sharing Association, and the General Assembly Headquarters of the Presbyterian Church of Korea.
Notably, this year, three social enterprises?Pyeongchang All Food, Juwangsan Kimchi, and Okgwa Delicious Kimchi?donated about 600 heads of kimchi to join the happy kimchi-sharing led by SK.
Attendees at the delivery ceremony included Jeong Min-seo, CEO of Pyeongchang All Food; Yoon Jong-seon, CEO of Busuragi Love Sharing Association; Kim Chang-joo, General Secretary of the Presbyterian Church of Korea; Monk Jin Hyo of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism; Ji Dong-seop, SV Chairman of SK Supex Council; Yoon Seok-am, CEO of SK Stoa; and Song Young-wook, CEO of Haengboknarae.
'SK Happy Sharing Kimchi' is SK's representative social contribution activity that has been carried out for 28 years since 1996.
Since 1996, SK group members have gathered to make kimchi themselves and delivered it to vulnerable groups. Since 2015, instead of large-scale events, SK has changed to purchasing kimchi produced by social enterprises and delivering it to neighbors. This approach allows social enterprises producing kimchi to gain opportunities for increased recognition and sales, while also revitalizing the local economy through the use of domestic ingredients and employment of local residents. Since 2022, SK Stoa has supported the promotion and sales of kimchi from social enterprises participating in kimchi-sharing through special home shopping broadcasts.
