Seongdong-gu Selected as Seoul's Best Civil Service Agency for 3 Consecutive Years
Selected for 3 Consecutive Years Since 2021 as the First Seoul District in Legal and Response Office Civil Petition Evaluations
Reduced Civil Petition Processing Time by Over 45% and Increased Compliance Rate...High Ratings in Civil Petition Satisfaction
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) was selected as the 'Best Institution' for three consecutive years since 2021 in the '2023 Seoul Civil Service (Statutory Civil Complaints, Response Center Complaints) Evaluation' conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The civil service evaluation assesses 363 institutions under the Seoul Metropolitan Government to improve the speed of civil complaint processing and citizen satisfaction by evaluating the processing period and satisfaction of statutory civil complaints and Response Center complaints.
This evaluation was conducted as a document review using system-extracted data from Saeol and the Response Center for all Seoul institutions. It comprehensively examined the compliance rate and reduction rate of complaint processing periods, satisfaction, and simplification of required documents for civil service provision.
As a result of the evaluation, three institutions including Seongdong-gu were selected as the best institutions, with Seongdong-gu being the only autonomous district in Seoul to be chosen. Notably, Seongdong-gu is the first Seoul autonomous district to receive the best award for three consecutive years.
Seongdong-gu received excellent evaluations in citizen satisfaction by promptly handling civil complaints that require cooperation from multiple institutions and departments. Additionally, it reduced the complaint processing period by more than 45%. To improve the reduction rate of complaint processing periods, Seongdong-gu operates the ‘Speed Civil Complaint Mileage System’ which selects outstanding employees for reduction. At the same time, to prevent delayed complaints, it runs a ‘Civil Complaint Processing Deadline Text Notification Service’ and a pre-notification and reminder system for employees.
Seongdong-gu also maintained a high compliance rate for complaint processing periods, receiving high scores in the comprehensive evaluation. Furthermore, it simplified the required documents for complaints, enhancing both the speed of processing and satisfaction.
