Geochang-gun, Farmers' On-site Voices ... 3rd Nongsacheong Operation

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 15th that it held the 3rd Nongsacheong to listen to the voices of agricultural technology center staff and farmers, with eight participants including County Governor Gu In-mo, the president of the Geochang-gun Rice Farmers Association, and the president of the Geochang-gun Strawberry Association at the main building of the Agricultural Technology Center.

Nongsacheong (農思聽) means a place to listen to thoughts about agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. The 1st and 2nd Nongsacheong sessions were held on October 25 and November 15, respectively.

The 3rd Nongsacheong proceeded in the order of staff communication, consultations with agricultural-related organizations such as the Geochang-gun Rice Farmers Association, and field visits (demonstration of grape joint harvesting at the base APC). It was evaluated that through on-site communication and visits, more prompt and progressive agricultural administration operation plans were proposed.

Kim Byung-gil, president of the Geochang-gun Rice Farmers Association, said, “There was significant damage due to agricultural disasters this year, and we need to prepare for more agricultural disasters in the future.” He added, “While the operation of Nongsacheong cannot prevent agricultural disasters, I believe it will help in resolving them.”

Governor Gu In-mo stated, “I will ensure that the operation of Nongsacheong in the 8th elected term can provide answers to agricultural policy issues and urgent rural social problems.” He also said, “In the upcoming Gapjin year, we will further activate the operation of Nongsacheong to listen to the thoughts and voices of farming households.”
