Choi Chi-hyun, Gwangsan-gu Eul Gwangju Preliminary Candidate, Listens to Difficulties of Cleaning Workers
"Through Experience as a Boy Worker, Understand the Difficult but Valuable Worth of Labor Well"
Choi Chi-hyun, a preliminary candidate for the National Assembly election in Gwangsan-gu (Eul), Gwangju Metropolitan City, arranged a meeting to listen to and empathize with the difficulties faced by cleaning workers.
On the morning of the 13th at 5:30 AM, Choi met with cleaning workers, including Oh Jun-pyo, chairman of the Gwangju Living Environment Labor Union, who was preparing for early morning cleaning at the yard of the Gwangju Facilities Management Corporation.
This meeting with cleaning workers, which was also his first step after registering as a preliminary candidate, is understood to be because Choi, who earned his own tuition fees by working as a child laborer and bus conductor, knows well how valuable and difficult the sweat of laborers is.
Having had a close relationship with cleaning workers since his time as the head of the Gwangsan-gu Civil Service Office, he spent time talking while doing morning exercises together.
He said, “It is thanks to the diligent sweat of cleaning workers who open the day in Gwangsan-gu that citizens can greet a refreshing morning. The city continues because of cleaning workers who work in unseen places. I will strive to identify and improve any inconveniences.”
