Awarded Best District Alongside Dobong and Seocho in Seoul City Comprehensive Evaluation
Efforts to Create a Clean Dining Environment Through Delivery Restaurant Kitchen Disclosure Project
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) was selected as the Best District in the ‘2023 Comprehensive Evaluation of Food Hygiene’ hosted by Seoul City.
This evaluation was comprehensively conducted on 23 indicators across 7 areas promoted by the districts to improve the level of food hygiene closely related to residents' health, targeting 25 autonomous districts in Seoul.
The district received high scores overall in the seven areas: ▲Food Safety Management Infrastructure ▲Response to Food Poisoning and Food Service Industry Management ▲Guidance and Inspection ▲Sample Collection and Inspection and Complaint Handling ▲Dietary Improvement ▲Integrity and Friendly Administrative Services ▲Citizen Participation in Administration.
In particular, with the increase in delivery and dining-out culture, the district strengthened hygiene guidance and inspections of food service establishments through joint public-private inspections, and promoted the ‘Delivery Restaurant Kitchen Disclosure’ project to create a hygienic and clean dining environment, enabling residents to enjoy safe and healthy food.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Being selected as the Best District in this evaluation is the result of our efforts to ensure food safety and hygiene management for our residents,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a healthy food environment so that residents can use it with confidence.”

Meanwhile, the district plans to use the 30 million won incentive secured from this award to improve food hygiene levels and food culture.
