'Busan Village Health Center! Towards Becoming South Korea's Village Health Center' Theme
Busan City will hold the ‘2023 Busan City Village Health Center Project Performance Sharing Day’ event at 10 a.m. on the 12th in the city hall auditorium.
Village Health Centers are small-area health promotion institutions currently established in 75 locations across 16 districts and counties. Nurses and village activists reside here and carry out citizen-centered health promotion projects.
This Performance Sharing Day event, themed ‘Busan’s Village Health Centers! Towards Village Health Centers of the Republic of Korea,’ is organized to share the major achievements of Busan City’s Village Health Centers this year and to explore the direction of next year’s projects. It is also an occasion to encourage project stakeholders who contributed to the successful implementation of the projects.
About 700 people, including representatives from Busan’s 75 Village Health Centers, local health project officials, and citizens, are expected to attend.
The event will proceed in the following order: ▲ Presentation of major achievements of Village Health Centers in 2023 ▲ Awards for outstanding institutions and meritorious persons ▲ Congratulatory performances ▲ ‘Proposal 2024’ by stakeholders for better activities ▲ Presentation of ‘Leap 2024’ outlining the activity direction for 2024.
In particular, a resident of Suyeong-gu will express gratitude for how meeting the Village Health Center has led them to live a life caring for their own health as well as their neighbors and volunteering. There will also be congratulatory performances by resident health small groups who have honed their skills over the past year, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event.
During the ‘Proposal 2024, Leap 2024’ presentation, the ‘Busan Citizens All Together Healthier Health Up (UP)’ strategy, which contains plans to qualitatively transform the Village Health Centers, will be introduced, raising great expectations among stakeholders for the Village Health Center projects to take a significant leap forward next year.
This event will also feature various side events open to not only project stakeholders but all citizens.
To respond to the climate crisis, booths for making natural powdered toothpaste, natural deodorants, and fabric softeners will be operated to encourage reducing the use of disposable products. Additionally, a tarot booth will be available to soothe tired minds and bodies and provide healing.
