Changwon Special City Holds First Board Meeting to Launch 'Changwon FC Foundation'
Appointment Certificates Awarded to New Executives Including Director and Chairman
Deliberation on Next Year's Business Plan and Budget Proposal
On the 11th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '1st Board of Directors Meeting of the Changwon FC Foundation' at the city hall's administrative meeting room, attended by 10 people including the chairman (mayor) and board executives.
At this board meeting, reports were given on the establishment process of the Changwon FC Foundation, the status of asset contributions, and the draft articles of incorporation. To obtain establishment approval from Gyeongnam Province, the board deliberated on ▲the adoption of the establishment purpose statement (draft) ▲the 2024 business plan and budget (draft) ▲and key regulations (draft).
Additionally, a certificate awarding ceremony was held for the newly appointed Seo Jang-wook as director (CEO), five appointed directors, and one auditor.
The city promoted the incorporation of Changwon FC Foundation to operate the 'Changwon City Hall Workplace Sports Club Soccer Team,' which currently participates in the K3 League, independently and professionally in accordance with the Korea Football Association Club Licensing Regulations.
To incorporate Changwon FC, the city began pre-establishment consultations with Gyeongsangnam-do in March 2021, conducted a feasibility study, underwent operational reviews by investment and contribution institutions of Changwon City and Gyeongnam Province, enacted and promulgated ordinances related to the establishment and operation of the foundation, completed the executive appointment process, and is preparing for its launch in December.
Hong Nam-pyo, mayor and chairman of the Changwon FC Foundation, urged the board members, “With your diverse experience and professional perspectives, please provide generous advice so that football in our city can expand its base further and become a sport loved and supported by many citizens.”

He added, “Changwon City will also spare no administrative and financial support not only for Changwon FC’s game performance but also for youth development projects and regional promotion through sports marketing.”
