1t-Class Motorboat Sinks Off Jeodo, Geoje City... All Crew Safely Rescued
Changwon Coast Guard is rescuing the crew members who were on the accident vessel and guiding them to the Jinhae Police Substation coastal rescue boat.

Over the weekend, a 1-ton motorboat carrying one crew member sank for unknown reasons near Jeodo, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, but was rescued by the Coast Guard.
According to the Changwon Maritime Police Station, on the morning of the 9th at around 9:10 AM, vessel A, which had departed from Idong Port in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si for fishing, sank at approximately 9:46 AM the same day in the northern waters near Jeodo, Geoje-si.
B, a man in his 40s who was on board the accident vessel, requested rescue from vessel C, a 1-ton coastal trap fishing boat operating nearby, as seawater flooded into the boat.
After receiving the report from the captain of vessel C, the Changwon Coast Guard dispatched patrol ships and coastal rescue boats to the scene, rescued the crew member of vessel A, and moved the vessel back to Idong Port.

A representative from the Changwon Coast Guard stated, “Powered water leisure crafts like motorboats are vulnerable to maritime accidents such as sinking and flooding due to their small tonnage, so safety inspections before departure are essential,” and added, “In case of emergencies at sea, we hope people are well acquainted with rescue reporting procedures to enable quick reporting.”
