Born in 1964, Baek Do-min is a figure who joined the predecessor of the current NHN and Naver, old NHN, after working at first-generation venture companies such as Solbit Media, Hankyung Wow TV, and Wawacom. He served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in 2006 and later also served as head of HR support. When NHN split from Naver in 2013, he was in charge of NHN's Operations Headquarters, and since 2019, he has led the business as head of NHN's cloud division.
Baek, who led the launch of NHN Cloud as an independent corporation, co-led the company with Kim Dong-hoon from April 2022. NHN Cloud attracted an investment of 150 billion KRW from Karites Co., Ltd., a special purpose company (SPC) established by IMM Investment earlier this year, entering the ranks of 'unicorn' companies with a corporate value exceeding 1 trillion KRW. The company also recorded a 39% market share in the institutional sector of the public sector cloud transition market in 2022. CEO Kim Dong-hoon expressed his ambition in June to achieve sales of 200 billion KRW in 2023.
