Intercure, Single Malt Whiskey 'Loch Lomond 47 Years'... 10 Bottles Released Domestically
Interliquor, a subsidiary of Drink International, announced on the 11th that it will release a limited edition of 10 bottles of the single malt Scotch whisky "Loch Lomond 47 Years Old," famous as the official whiskey of the world’s four major golf tournaments, the "The Open Championship," in Korea.
The newly released Loch Lomond 47 Years Old is the third and final edition of the Remarkable Stills Series, containing only the original spirit distilled using the innovative straight neck still unique to the Loch Lomond Distillery, aged for 47 years. This limited edition whisky was released worldwide in only 200 bottles, with only 10 bottles imported to Korea.
The Remarkable Stills Series was inspired by the distinctive straight neck still installed exclusively at the Loch Lomond Distillery in 1965. The series features spirits distilled in 1974, presented over three years, and to commemorate this, the whisky is housed in an oak box adorned with a copper plate shaped like the straight neck still, adding a special touch.
Loch Lomond 47 Years Old (44.3% ABV) was distilled in 1974 using Loch Lomond’s unique straight neck still and aged for 43 years in refill American oak casks, creating a base of vanilla and caramel aromas. It was then transferred to second-fill Oloroso sherry casks for an additional 4 years of maturation, adding rich fruit flavors of dried and tropical fruits.
