Gwangju Buk-gu Selected as an Excellent Institution for Community Integrated Care
On the 10th, Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced that it was selected as an 'Excellent Institution for Community Integrated Care' in the '2023 Regional Welfare Project Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Regional Welfare Project Evaluation was conducted to discover exemplary cases of community integrated care, such as the pilot project for integrated medical and care support implemented this year in preparation for a super-aged society, and to spread them nationwide.
In this evaluation, out of 40 local governments that participated in the contest, 8 local governments were finally selected as excellent institutions after qualitative evaluations on major achievements, quantitative evaluations, and efforts to establish a promotion system.
Buk-gu submitted the case titled "More Diverse, Thicker, and Denser Integrated Care: Deo:Bom" and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award along with a prize of 10 million won.
Buk-gu’s integrated care case was highly evaluated for establishing a bottom-up integrated care system by deploying dedicated care personnel throughout the care process, from the neighborhood office, which is the closest institution to residents, to the main office overseeing policies, managing care recipients by neighborhood, district, and region.
In particular, the three services promoted in cooperation with various related organizations such as local medical institutions and welfare facilities ? ▲Health and Medical Support (5 programs), ▲Housing Support (4 programs), and ▲Daily Life Support (10 programs) ? received favorable reviews as advanced cases of medical and care linkage that allow local residents in need of care to heal both body and mind in their homes.
