'Jaemiyine Maeul' Founder: "Abolish the Term Gaeddal... Using It in Headlines Is Incitement Media"
The founder of the fan cafe 'Jaemyeong's Village' for Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has declared the abolition of the term 'Gaeddal' (daughters of reform, supporters of Lee Jae-myung).
According to the Democratic Party's National Response Center on the 10th, a party member who referred to themselves as 'MyeongTube' posted a petition stating, "As of 0:00 on December 9, 2023, the term 'Gaeddal' will be officially abolished."
They requested that the term be replaced with 'Democratic Party member' or 'Democratic Party supporter.'

View original imageThe petition, which started on the 9th, has received 1,000 endorsements as of the 10th. With an agreement rate of 2%, it will continue until the 8th of next month. If the number of endorsements exceeds 50,000, the Democratic Party must respond.
The petitioner stated, "While we encouraged each other using the term 'daughters of reform' and rose again to stop prosecutorial dictatorship on this land for the Democratic Party, the opposing camp framed and incited us as if it were a conspiracy by Jeon Du-gwang," adding, "Unable to endure any longer, I wrote this and formalized it through a petition."

They further warned, "If Democratic Party members are defamed with article titles and content using the term 'Gaeddal,' we will identify and stigmatize such articles and journalists as false, fabricated, and inciting, just like Jeon Du-hwan, who framed the people as 'rioters' and brutally bombarded Gwangju."
