Eunpyeong-gu Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for Promoting Integrated Medical and Care Support
Establishment of Integrated Medical and Care Support System, Comprehensive Evaluation for Excellent Institution Selection Including Service Provision, Promotion, and Stable Implementation... Care SOS Project, Pilot Project for Home Medical Centers, Operation of 'Adding Health to Care'
Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it was selected as the only outstanding institution in Seoul by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the 2023 Medical and Care Integrated Support Promotion and received the 'Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation.'
The Ministry of Health and Welfare comprehensively evaluated local governments nationwide on whether they have established a medical and care integrated support promotion system, provided services, conducted publicity, and stably promoted the system, selecting excellent institutions accordingly.
Since July 2019, Eunpyeong-gu has been operating the 'Care SOS Project' to ensure that residents in need of care can enjoy care services tailored to their individual needs and live together harmoniously within the community.
'Care SOS' is a project that provides five major fee-based services?temporary home care, accompaniment support, short-term facility use, meal delivery, and residential convenience?to households requiring temporary and urgent care. For households needing mid- to long-term care, it connects five major mid- to long-term care services: welfare check-ins, health support, care systems, case management, and emergency support.
Additionally, since December 2022, Eunpyeong-gu has been proactively leading the pilot project of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Long-term Care Home Medical Center.
The district operates its own specialized project, 'Adding Health to Care,' which provides step-by-step customized integrated support services through health consultations for care recipients. In August, the project was recognized for its excellence by Seoul City and expanded into the 'Seoul City Care SOS Customized Health Care Support Project,' currently implemented across all 25 autonomous districts of Seoul.
