... Presents 10 Songs in 3 Parts Under the Theme 'Perfect Christmas'
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Hee-young) held the 12th Yongsan-gu Children’s Choir Regular Concert on the 9th at 3 p.m. at the Garam Small Theater in Yongsan Art Hall.
This concert, held for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic, was free of charge for all seats. With about 300 attendees, the concert, themed "A Perfect Christmas," featured songs of comfort and empathy, jazz melodies, and carol medleys, receiving great applause.
The performance was divided into three parts: ▲ Songs of Comfort and Empathy ▲ A Perfect Christmas ▲ Toy Story, showcasing a variety of genres in choral form.
In Part 1, Songs of Comfort and Empathy, four songs including "Don’t Worry," "Where the Wind Blows," and "From Mother to Daughter" were sung by the children’s voices, conveying gratitude to the residents who worked hard in their respective places throughout 2023.
After Part 1, there was a special performance by the band WATCH, composed of guitar, bass, piano, and drums.
Part 2, A Perfect Christmas, began with the famous carol "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and included five songs such as "To Santa Claus" and "You Are the One Who Brings Me Happiness," creating a festive Christmas atmosphere.
In the final Part 3, songs from a famous animation featuring toys as the main characters were performed, taking the audience back to their childhood innocence. Especially, the Part 3 performance was enriched by a collaboration with the Latif Brass Ensemble.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “It is a precious time to feel great comfort and emotion through the beautiful voices of our children, more beautiful than any instrument,” and added, “We will continue to strive to expand cultural enjoyment for our residents.”

The Yongsan-gu Children’s Choir consists of 30 elementary and middle school students living or studying in Yongsan-gu. They practice singing and choreography every Tuesday and Thursday in the multipurpose room in the basement of Yongsan-gu Office. They participate annually in regular concerts and various district events, offering cultural performances to the residents.
