HUG Takes Criminal Action Against 51 'Malicious Landlords' Suspected of Jeonse Fraud
The Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) has taken criminal action against a total of 51 suspected jeonse fraudsters as of the end of October.
According to the public institution management information disclosure system ALIO's announcement on the 8th, as one of the measures to address the increase in jeonse deposit refund guarantee incidents, HUG has been taking actions such as filing complaints, lawsuits, and investigation requests against landlords suspected of jeonse fraud since the second half of last year.
The number of malicious landlords subject to criminal action was 26 last year and 25 from January to October this year, totaling 51.
HUG has formed and is operating a task force (TF) with investigative agencies to address this issue.
