Nexon Launches Team-Based FPS Game 'The Finals' Globally
Nexon officially launched the new team-based FPS game, ‘The Finals,’ developed by its subsidiary Embark Studios, in the global market on the 8th.
‘The Finals’ is a first-person team battle shooting game that aims for dynamism and strategic gameplay, offering limitless shooting action through a free demolition mechanism. During the cross-play open beta test last October, it attracted 7.5 million cumulative users, recorded a peak concurrent user count of approximately 270,000 on Steam, and ranked first on the wishlist, garnering expectations as the next-generation shooting game.
The game supports cross-play on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, and players can use gamepads on the PC platform as well. Players can choose from three characters with different skills, weapons, and gadgets depending on their body types, and play on four maps based on world-famous locations such as ‘Monaco,’ ‘Seoul,’ and ‘Las Vegas (VEGAS).’ The game offers modes including ‘Tournament,’ where 24 players divided into eight teams secure and defend a ‘vault’; ‘Quick Cash,’ a casual mode for 9 players; ‘Rank Tournament,’ where 48 players compete; and ‘Bank It,’ where four teams compete to collect the most ‘coins.’
‘The Finals’ operates on a seasonal basis, with Season 1 starting from the official launch. In this season, players can experience the new map ‘LAS VEGAS,’ set in the legendary city and boxing mecca of Las Vegas, featuring dynamic environments where everything on the battlefield collapses. Additionally, players can uncover the first clue related to the secret of ‘The Finals’ universe, which unfolds as a game show in a virtual world.
Alongside this, a costume system is provided to customize characters according to player preferences, with unique skins such as panda and ballerina available. To commemorate the official launch, a ‘Battle Pass’ system has also been introduced, allowing players to complete missions, level up, and earn 96 diverse reward items.
