Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation Holds 1st Donor Appreciation Day Event
Leading the Promotion of Community Sharing Culture and Improvement of Welfare Services
Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation held the 2023 1st Donor Appreciation Day event on the 7th at the Yeju Culture and Arts Center Intangible Cultural Heritage Transmission Hall to promote a culture of donation and to express gratitude to supporters who participated in donation activities.
About 100 donors of the foundation attended the event, which was also graced by Kim Gwang-yeol, County Governor, Son Deok-su, Chairman of the County Council, Kim Myung-yong, Chairman of Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation, along with heads of institutions and organizations and various dignitaries from all walks of life.
The event proceeded with a pre-ceremony performance, opening ceremony, commendation of meritorious persons, activity reports, and a gratitude performance. The awardees were recognized for their contributions to spreading a culture of sharing in the local community: ▲Kwon Mi-seon, CEO of Daol Co., Ltd., and Kang Su-jeon, private committee chair of the Ganggu-myeon Community Security Council, received the Yeongdeok County Governor’s Commendation Plaque, and ▲Kim Eun-tae, CEO of Hongil Food, and Hwang Bo-sang, head of Ecobit Water Yeongdeok branch, received the Yeongdeok County Council Chairman’s Appreciation Plaque.
Following this, commendation plaques from the Chairman of Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation were awarded to Jo Won-young, CEO of Juyun Tech Computer; Kwon Shin-gi, director of Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation; Kim Jae-hee, head of the County Health Center; Choi Su-hyuk, CEO of Lipit Fitness Center; Park Ki-bok, CEO of Mirae Environmental Industry; Lee An-guk, director of the Family Center; Kim Dong-won, president of the Disabled Persons’ Association; Monk Mu Sim Hyeon-gak, head monk of Haedongsa Temple; Young-chul Joo, CEO of Yeongdeok Changho; Kim Bo-ram, president of Yeongdeok Mom Cafe; and Nam Si-jeong, representative of the 1004 Donation participants.
At the event, County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol expressed his gratitude, saying, “Everyone who has been with Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation is a protagonist in creating a happy city, Yeongdeok,” and added, “I ask for your continued interest and affection so that our local community can move forward into the future together, smiling under the strong pillar of a culture of sharing.”

The Yeongdeok Welfare Foundation, established in December 2021 with the purpose of eliminating welfare blind spots and providing various welfare services, is promoting projects such as ▲support for welfare blind spots ▲community cooperation projects ▲education support projects ▲social welfare research projects ▲donation and contribution projects. Over two years, it has raised 351.89 million KRW in cash and in-kind donations to support vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients, persons with disabilities, and elderly living alone.
