The welfare facility sharing forest creation project is fully supported by the Green Fund to create forests and resting areas in social welfare facilities mainly used by socially and economically vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled, aiming to promote emotional stability for facility users and create spaces for harmony and communication with local residents.
Muan-gun received 140 million KRW in support from the Korea Forest Welfare Institute and created a forest by planting 67 large trees, 3,333 shrubs, 1,117 herbaceous plants, and ground cover plants over 249㎡ in an unused space of 6,840㎡ within the Jaehye Senior Welfare Center social welfare facility.
This area is planned to be used as a forest experience facility contributing to the physical and emotional stability of facility users in the future and will be opened as a space where visitors and nearby residents can enjoy relaxation.
Governor Kim San said, “The sharing forest creation project is a project that aims to improve the quality of life by providing forest experience opportunities to residents in the blind spots of welfare systems,” adding, “We will continue to expand the Green Fund contest projects to contribute to securing forest experience spaces for marginalized groups in the welfare system blind spots.”
