Gumi-si Supports Children's Right to Play Through Traditional Games
Creating Play-Friendly Environments ... Training 'Noligigudan' Play Planning Team
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk Province is conducting the "Gumi City Play Planning Group Training" for 35 citizens over three days from the 5th to the 7th at the orientation room of the Saemaeul Movement Theme Park Exhibition Hall.
This training is aimed at citizens who have a high understanding of children's right to play and are interested in traditional play culture. Among the 53 applicants who were publicly recruited in advance, 25 were finally selected after theoretical and practical training.
The Play Planning Group will focus on the play and leisure sector, one of the six areas for establishing Gumi City as a child-friendly city (play and leisure, participation and civic consciousness, safety and protection, health and social services, educational environment, residential environment). They will complete various traditional play education programs including ▲Creative Traditional Play (Sotdukkok Play, Cheongcheongmalkara, Sonchigi Balchigi, Sooeyanggan, Saedungji Play) ▲Cooperative Traditional Play (Cheongeo Yeokgi, Daemun Play, Dalpaengi Play, Pungdengi Dance, Lion Wrestling and Tiger Wrestling) ▲Leader Traditional Play (Tail Catching, Bibimbap Play, Telephone Play Butterfly, Tiger) and will be active with children at playgrounds and parks from March to November next year.
