Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that it will designate the period until March 15 next year as the "Comprehensive Winter Natural Disaster Countermeasure Period" and operate a comprehensive situation room to prevent damage to residents caused by heavy snowfall and other factors.
The city has organized 13 practical countermeasure teams composed of civil, government, and military cooperation and established a Disaster Safety Countermeasure Headquarters to maintain a 24-hour situation management system and respond to heavy snowfall caused by abnormal climate conditions.

To this end, the city has secured 1,600 tons of non-edible salt and 190 tons of eco-friendly deicing agents, and completed inspections of 9 snow removal vehicles, 25 spreaders, and 16 snowplows. In addition, the city inspected vulnerable freezing sections such as national roads, city roads, major arterial roads, and village side roads, and placed 359 snow removal boxes.
In particular, the city plans to organize and implement emergency duty according to the stages of heavy snowfall to quickly grasp weather conditions and actively carry out snow removal operations.
