Incheon Namdong-gu Supports Crime Prevention System for Single Women Households and Stores... First in Incheon City
Namdong-gu, Incheon supported crime prevention systems for single-woman households and single-person stores to alleviate women's fear of crime and improve safe residential environments.
According to the district on the 5th, recently, 80 single-woman households were provided with four types of 'Safe Home Sets,' including indoor CCTV and smart doorbells, and 'Safe Emergency Bells' were installed in 60 single-person stores. This project was promoted after being selected as the 'Incheon Women's Safety Dream Pilot Project,' with Namdong-gu being the first in Incheon to start it.
The Safe Home Set consists of indoor CCTV, a smart doorbell that allows real-time visitor verification, and a portable emergency bell that, when pressed in an emergency, sends location and audio information to the police and acquaintances. The Safe Bell system immediately connects to the 112 situation room of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency when pressed in a dangerous situation, enabling the police to promptly dispatch to the scene.
For efficient project implementation, the district prioritized receiving applications from crime victim households in cooperation with the local police station for single-woman households. For single-person stores, various types of stores were encouraged to apply through promotions by the neighborhood administrative welfare centers, the Korea Beauty Association, Karaoke Association, traditional market and merchant associations. Since August, the district has recruited beneficiaries and completed a total of 140 installations.
An operator of a small store in a district dense with bars said, "I was very afraid due to unauthorized entry by intoxicated individuals, but I feel relieved with the installation of the emergency bell."
