Anseong-si Selected as Best in Operation and Management of Public Wastewater Treatment Facilities
On the 5th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it was selected as the top institution in Group Ⅰ in this year's "Public Wastewater Treatment Facility Operation and Management Performance Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of Environment.
This evaluation was conducted by the Ministry of Environment by dividing 236 treatment facilities in 102 local governments nationwide into three groups according to treatment capacity. The evaluation consisted of a first round assessing 28 items such as wastewater inflow rate, efficiency, and economic feasibility, followed by a second round evaluating safety management response capability and facility operation expertise. The groups were classified by daily treatment capacity as follows: ▲ Group Ⅰ for 10,000㎥ or more ▲ Group Ⅱ for 2,000 to 10,000㎥ ▲ Group Ⅲ for less than 2,000㎥.

View original imageThe city explained that it was selected as the top institution in this evaluation in recognition of its differentiated efforts and achievements to strengthen discharge water quality and improve treatment efficiency, such as renovation construction and replacement of aging facilities.
Anseong City was previously ranked second (excellent) in Group Ⅰ in the 2021 evaluation, and this is the first time it has been selected as the top institution.
