Pukyong National University Wins KUSF Triathlon Men's Division Championship

National Pukyong University (President Jang Young-soo) announced on the 5th that a team of second-year students majoring in Marine Sports, Kim Young-jun, Kim Tae-woo, Joo Ji-hwan, and Lee Je-hoon, won first place in the men's division at the ‘KUSF (Korea University Sports Federation) Club Championship 2023 Indoor Triathlon Challenge.’

View original imageThe National Pukyong University team achieved the best overall result, ranking first in the men's division at this event, which was held recently at the Chuncheon National Sports Center as the final competition of the 2023 Chuncheon International Leisure Festival, with about 150 university club athletes from across the country participating.
This competition was a scaled-down version of an official triathlon, consisting of three events?running, cycling, and swimming?performed on fixed rails set up inside the venue. The running distance was 1 km, cycling 3 km, and swimming 200 m. The competition format combined the results of the first round individual events and the second round team events to determine team awards.
The National Pukyong University team advanced through the group preliminaries and competed against teams from Korea National Sport University, CHA University of Medicine and Science, and Kyung Hee University in the final round. Based on the combined results of the first round individual events and the second round team events, they achieved the best performance and secured first place.
