Assemblyman Seodongyong Secures 7.4 Billion Won in Special Grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Secured a total of 14.7 billion KRW in special grants, including 7.3 billion KRW in the first half
Assemblyman Seo: "Will encourage timely execution of budgets essential for the region"
Seo Dong-yong, a member of the National Assembly's Education Committee representing Suncheon-si, Gwangyang-si, Gokseong-gun, and Gurye-gun (Eul), announced on the 4th through a press release that he secured a total of 7.4 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the second half of the year.
With this, in addition to the 7.3 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety secured in the first half of the year, a total of 14.7 billion KRW in special grant budgets have been secured for 2023 in the Jeonnam Suncheon-Gwangyang-Gokseong-Gurye (Eul) constituency.
Looking at the details of the secured special grants, first, 1.4 billion KRW was secured for the Shindaecheon maintenance project to develop Shindaecheon in Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon-si, into a waterfront and cultural space.
Gwangyang-si secured a total of 2 billion KRW, including ▲ 1 billion KRW for Gilho Bridge repair and reinforcement work, ▲ 800 million KRW for Mangdeok Port waterfront walkway deck maintenance, and ▲ 200 million KRW for remodeling the restrooms at the Gwangyang Senior Welfare Center.
Gokseong-gun secured a total of 2 billion KRW, including ▲ 400 million KRW for maintenance and convenience facility improvements at the Seomjingang Train Village tourist facility, ▲ 500 million KRW for remodeling the Gokseong-gun Social Welfare Center, ▲ 400 million KRW for maintenance of the aging reservoir at Songgangje in Gyeommyeon, ▲ 100 million KRW for establishing a real-time shared CCTV video system for village crime prevention, ▲ 300 million KRW for slope maintenance in Hakjeong-ri, Gokseong-eup, and ▲ 300 million KRW for maintenance of Hahancheon in Jukgok, Gokseong.
Gurye-gun also secured 2 billion KRW, including ▲ 1.1 billion KRW for installing children's playground facilities at the Sansuyu Experience Yard and ▲ 900 million KRW for the reconstruction of Gurye’s First Baegun Bridge.
This special grant budget has been evaluated as being filled with funds that closely affect residents' lives, and it was also praised for securing a solid budget not only for local pending projects but also for disaster safety.
Assemblyman Seo Dong-yong stated, “Based on the total 14.7 billion KRW in special grants secured in the first and second halves of the year, I will further encourage the timely execution of pending projects needed in the region,” adding, “I will continue to do my best in the National Assembly to improve disaster safety during the winter season and the living conditions of residents.”
