Gwangju Transportation Corporation Launches Effort to Spread 'Culture of Human Rights Respect' in Local Community
Diverse Events Including Human Rights Photo Exhibition and Campaign
Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Jo Ik-moon) has taken the initiative to foster public consensus for spreading a culture of human rights respect in the local community ahead of Human Rights Day (December 10).
The corporation recently announced on the 4th that it is conducting a 'Human Rights Campaign for the Spread of Local Human Rights Culture' together with the Gwangju Office of the National Human Rights Commission and Gwangju Metropolitan City at Sangmu Station in Seo-gu.
The corporation actively promoted its human rights management policies, including the 'Human Rights Management Declaration,' encouraging the local community to join in practicing an advanced human rights culture based on respect and consideration.
In collaboration with the Gwangju Human Rights Office of the National Human Rights Commission, a special exhibition titled 'Everyday is Human Rights,' which explains the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through illustrations for easy understanding by the general public, is being held at Sangmu Station in Seo-gu, receiving great response.
Various activities are also underway to raise human rights awareness in daily life, including a 'Citizen Participation Human Rights Management Quiz Event' on the corporation’s website until the 10th.
