Book Launch Event for "Yang Bu-nam's New Challenge" Successfully Held
The publication celebration of Yang Bu-nam, the Legal Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, for his book "Yang Bu-nam's New Challenge" was successfully held on the 2nd, drawing a crowd of over 5,000 people and receiving enthusiastic attention.
Written congratulatory messages were delivered by Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party leader, and Hong Ik-pyo, the party's floor leader, while video messages of congratulations came from Supreme Council members Jeong Cheong-rae and Park Chan-dae, National Assembly member Jeong Seong-ho, and former Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Chair Jeon Hyun-hee.
Congratulatory speeches followed from Monk Jiseon, National Assembly members Lee Gae-ho, Yoon Young-duk, and Jo O-seop, as well as Go Kyung-ae, Chairperson of the Seo-gu Council. Notably, Jo Young-dae, the parish priest of Hanam Catholic Church in the Gwangju Archdiocese and nephew of the late Father Jo Bio, delivered a speech that drew attention.
Father Jo also revealed that the prosecution in the defamation case involving the late Father Jo Bio and former President Chun Doo-hwan was possible due to the determination of Chairman Yang Bu-nam at that time.
Legal Committee Chairman Yang Bu-nam said, "Honestly, fear comes first as I begin this new challenge, but I cannot stop my conviction for a fair society," adding, "I am starting a new challenge to create a fair country and a just Republic of Korea."
During the subsequent book concert with reporter Joo Jin-woo, he candidly shared about his impoverished childhood, the difficulties he overcame as a prosecutor, his journey to becoming a high-ranking prosecutor, and his meeting with party leader Lee Jae-myung.

Meanwhile, Yang Bu-nam, who was appointed as the Democratic Party's Legal Committee Chairman in September last year, is preparing to run for the Gwangju Seo-gu Eul district in next year's National Assembly election.
