Gyeonggi Agricultural Research Institute Launches 'Homepage' Providing Information on Succulent Plants
The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services recently launched a website providing information on succulent plants.
The Cactus and Succulent Plant Research Institute of the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced on the 4th that it has opened and recently started operating the website ‘Alri Dayuk,’ where users can search for information on succulents and pest and disease-related inquiries while growing these plants.
The Cactus and Succulent Plant Research Institute, as the national genetic resource management institution for cacti and succulents, collaborated with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of the University of Seoul to build the information-providing website to offer succulent plant information needed by consumers.
‘Alri Dayuk’ is a compound word combining ‘Alri’ (meaning ‘to inform’) and ‘Dayuk’ (succulent), signifying the purpose of informing consumers about cacti and succulents and providing related information.
On Alri Dayuk, users can search for information on 1,000 species of cacti and succulents by name or scientific name and find pest and disease diagnosis cases based on damage symptoms. Additionally, by accessing the plant exhibition hall, visitors can view plants exhibited at the Cactus Genetic Resource Center online.
