Naver Webtoon Surpasses 100 Billion Yen in Japan Transactions... Record High
Based on Combined Line Manga and E-book Japan
Naver Webtoon announced on the 1st that the annual transaction amount on platforms in Japan has surpassed 100 billion yen (8.7 billion KRW).
This figure combines the transaction amounts of the 'Line Manga' and 'eBookJapan' platforms, marking an all-time high. The popularity of Line Manga original webtoons has expanded, and eBookJapan has strengthened its work promotions as a result.
On Line Manga, the webtoon "Ip Hak Yong Byeong" surpassed a monthly transaction amount of 180 million yen (160 million KRW), recording the largest scale for a single work. "Jaehon Hwanghu" and "Yakdal Sinbu" also exceeded monthly transaction amounts of 100 million yen (87 million KRW). eBookJapan is enhancing work promotions, including partnerships with Japan's leading simple payment service, "PayPay."
Kim Shin-bae, Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of Line Digital Frontier, which operates Line Manga, said, "Through Line Manga and eBookJapan, we will provide entertaining works to more readers while discovering talented local creators to contribute to the growth of the Japanese digital comics market."
