Gyeonggi Fire Department to Hold 'Volunteer Fire Chief Workshop' in Yangpyeong on 29-30
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters held a workshop with over 160 volunteer fire brigade captains from the province.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced that from the 29th to the 30th, a two-day '2023 Volunteer Fire Brigade Captains Workshop' was held at Bloomvista in Yangpyeong-gun, attended by more than 160 volunteer fire brigade captains from fire stations across the province. The workshop reviewed this year's major achievements and shared key policy directions for next year's operations.
During the workshop, there was a presentation on excellent operational cases of European volunteer fire brigades, followed by lectures on the history of volunteer fire brigades by Professor Park Hwan of Suwon University (Department of History), and on leadership improvement and organizational management by Jeong Eun-ju, CEO of Chaeum and Bium (instructor at Gyeonggi-do Disabled Rehabilitation Association).
Jo Seon-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "Volunteer fire brigades are the frontline safety units that work tirelessly day and night for community safety, closest to the residents." He promised, "Next year, we will newly organize specialized volunteer fire brigades such as multicultural and university student groups by region to further expand their scope of activities, and the headquarters will spare no support so that volunteer fire brigade members can carry out their duties with greater pride and dignity."
