Suwon City Expands Services from Legal Consultation to Financial Consultation for Jeonse Victims
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will provide financial consultation services following legal counseling for victims of jeonse fraud starting in December.
On the 30th, Suwon City announced that from December 1, the 'Suwon Jeonse Damage Counseling Center' will additionally offer comprehensive consultations related to law and loans.
Earlier, on October 19, the city opened the counseling center on the first floor of the main city hall building, providing tailored counseling services to citizens suffering from jeonse-related damages.
Until now, the center has provided legal consultations through lawyers, judicial scriveners, and certified real estate agents, but from December 1 to 29, it will open a 'customized comprehensive financial consultation desk' to offer support.
At the financial consultation desk, detailed guidance and customized comprehensive financial counseling will be provided according to the types of jeonse fraud victims, including support for Jeonse Damage Tenant Support Loans and Home Purchase Didimdol Loans (for jeonse fraud victims). Consultations will also cover low-interest refinancing loans and jeonse loans under the Special Act on Jeonse Fraud.
A Suwon city official stated, "Most victims of jeonse fraud in Suwon are young adults in their 20s and 30s who are early in their careers," adding, "We hope those struggling due to jeonse fraud will visit the financial consultation desk and receive help."
