December 14, 6-9 PM, Nowon-gu Office 2nd Floor Auditorium: 'Regular Admission Information Session' - Supporting Successful Regular Admission through Latest College Entrance Trends Analysis... December 9-30: '1:1 Customized Regular Admission Counseling' Based on Actual CSAT Scores
Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will hold the 2024 College Entrance Regular Admission Strategy Briefing simultaneously online and offline.
The College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) held on the 16th was known as a so-called ‘bul-sunung’ (difficult CSAT), and it is widely expected that the influence of ‘N-su-saeng’ (repeat test takers who have taken the CSAT two or more times) will expand in the 2024 college regular admission process.
Accordingly, the district prepared this briefing to alleviate the anxiety of parents and examinees who are worried about college entrance preparation and to support successful regular admission by analyzing the latest college entrance trends.
The regular admission briefing will be held on December 14th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the 2nd-floor auditorium of Nowon-gu Office, targeting examinees including repeat test takers and their parents. The district invited ‘Teacher Kim Myeong-yeop’ from Hyewon Girls’ High School, a member of the College Admission Guidance Support Group recommended by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s Education Research Information Center, as the lecturer. Based on last year’s regular admission success case analysis, the briefing will provide detailed guidance on ▲ this year’s CSAT result analysis ▲ 2024 major university admission guideline analysis ▲ and regular admission support strategies by admission groups (Ga, Na, Da).
Examinees and parents who wish to attend the briefing can apply for free on the Nowon Education Platform website starting from 2 p.m. on December 1st, with a total of 300 participants accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
In case on-site participation is difficult due to the first-come, first-served registration closing, the district plans to broadcast the briefing live through the official YouTube channel of the district office, ‘Mihongssi.’ However, the recorded video will not be posted after the briefing ends, so prospective participants should take note.
From December 9th to 30th, after the CSAT score announcement, a full-scale ‘1:1 customized regular admission consultation’ will also be conducted. The one-on-one consultations will be directly handled by career and college admission counseling specialists affiliated with the Nowon Education Platform, who will verify universities that can be applied to based on the examinee’s actual CSAT scores and help establish detailed strategies by linking desired career paths. The consultation schedule will be finalized through online pre-registration and score input, with about five people per day, each receiving 50 minutes.
One-on-one consultations are open to all 2024 college entrance examinees and their parents, with the application period divided into two phases. The first phase prioritizes basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, single-parent families by law, disabled families, and out-of-school youth, starting from 2 p.m. on December 1st. The second phase opens to all applicants without distinction from 2 p.m. on December 4th.
Meanwhile, the Nowon Education Platform operates various counseling and linked programs to support career and college entrance roadmap setting and self-directed learning for students from 5th grade elementary to high school. In particular, the ‘Student Record Counseling’ conducted regularly for high school students not only provides advice for fulfilling school life but also helps effectively prepare for early college admissions, resulting in high satisfaction among participants.
