Sahmyook Health University and ADRA Korea Deliver Warm Love to Families in Crisis
Donation of 600 Winter Supply Sets Including 5kg Kimjang Kimchi and Seolleongtang on the 28th Through Participation in Warm Winter Campaign
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 28th at 10 a.m. that Samyook Health University (President Park Joo-hee) and ADRA Korea (Chairman Kang Soon-gi), an international private relief organization for natural disasters and war refugees, donated 600 winter supply sets including kimchi for kimjang (5kg) and seolleongtang to help vulnerable families have a warm winter.
The handover ceremony held at the Samyook Health University small auditorium was attended by Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Park Joo-hee, President of Samyook Health University, Kang Soon-gi, Chairman of the Samyook Academy Foundation & ADRA Korea (currently President of the Korean Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church), and officials from Dongdaemun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and Dongmun Disabled Welfare Center.
The donated items were entrusted to the Community Chest of Korea and are planned to be distributed to neighbors in need, with 200 households recommended by Dongdaemun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, 200 households by Dongmun Disabled Welfare Center, and 40 households each from five nearby community service centers.
Kang Soon-gi, Chairman of the Samyook Academy Foundation & ADRA Korea, who has been donating for 13 years, said, “It is an honor to participate in Dongdaemun-gu and the Community Chest of Korea’s ‘Warm Winter Project.’ I hope this will be a source of strength for marginalized neighbors, and I will continue to practice sharing in the local community.”
