Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it participated in the "13th Busan Organic, Eco-friendly, and Returning to Farming and Rural Life Expo" held at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, Busan from the 23rd to the 26th, conducting promotional activities to attract returnees to farming and rural areas.
Hosted by Messe Korea Co., Ltd., this expo provided opportunities to introduce and consult on support policies for returning to farming and rural life, as well as operated exhibition halls featuring various agricultural trends such as organic and eco-friendly products, processed goods, agricultural and marine products, and eco-friendly products, offering prospective returnees abundant basic information on returning to farming and rural living.
Gohung-gun operated a consultation booth for returning to farming and rural life, introducing policies such as startup fund loan support projects for returnees and programs like living experiences in Jeollanam-do and rural areas to urban residents wishing to return. It also provided various information through one-on-one customized consultations for visitors considering relocation, helping to resolve the concerns and questions of prospective returnees.
Meanwhile, Gohung-gun, which is striving to resolve the crisis of local extinction by supporting the successful settlement of returnees and attracting urban residents, offers various supports including the development of public land and rental housing by region, operation of a happiness school for returnees, support for repair costs of farmhouses for returnees, and support for living infrastructure. Additionally, it continuously holds the nation’s first "Visiting Returning to Hometown and Farming Explanation Sessions" targeting the baby boomer generation in the metropolitan area.
Furthermore, to ensure stable settlement and that returnees can live according to their original purpose of returning to farming and rural life, dedicated monitoring personnel are assigned for post-management to provide special care for returnees.
