Shin Ji-ae expressed her intention to participate in the Paris Olympics next year.
In an interview with Japan Golf Digest on the 27th, she said, "Next year, there will be the Paris Olympics. My world ranking has improved, and I want to participate in the Olympics at least once." Shin Ji-ae finished this season on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour ranked 3rd in prize money (163,568,277 yen), 2nd in the Mercedes ranking (2790.06 points), and 3rd in average score (70.1595 strokes). She added two wins this year at the Daikin Orchid Ladies Tournament in March and the Earth Mondahmin Cup in June.
Above all, Shin Ji-ae showed remarkable performance in the major tournaments of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour. She was runner-up at the US Women's Open in July and placed 3rd at the AIG Women's Open in August. Currently, Shin Ji-ae is ranked 16th in the world. Among Korean players, she ranks behind Ko Jin-young (6th), Kim Hyo-joo (7th), and Yang Hee-young (15th). Countries with four or more players ranked within the top 15 in the world rankings can send four players to the Olympics. If Shin Ji-ae ranks within the top 15 in the world rankings by June next year and is among the top four Korean players, she will be able to compete on the Paris Olympic stage.

Shin Ji-ae is expected to compete in the LPGA Tour major tournaments next year. The world ranking points awarded in the LPGA Tour are significantly higher than those in the JLPGA Tour. She is anticipated to participate in events such as the HSBC World Championship in February, the Chevron Championship major in April, and the US Women's Open in May, where many top players compete and substantial world ranking points are awarded.
