Jangseong-gun Holds 2nd Meeting of Regional Social Security Representative Council

Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it held the ‘2nd Meeting of the Jangseong-gun Community Social Security Representative Council’ at the county office situation room.

At the meeting, more than 20 people, including the council’s representative members, Jangseong-gun Mayor Kim Han-jong, and responsible officials, gathered in one place to brainstorm on expanding social security.

Community social security is an administrative system that prevents local residents from suffering due to social risks such as poverty and disease.

The Jangseong-gun Community Social Security Plan is a statutory plan aimed at expanding such social security systems, establishing specific strategies and directions for implementation.

Based on Article 41 of the Social Security Benefits Act, the community social security council is composed of a representative council, working council, working subcommittees, and town/myeon councils. Among them, representatives are appointed from local institutions, corporations, organizations, and facilities that provide social security services.

The 5th Community Social Security Plan, which began in earnest this year, was finalized through last year’s establishment project, report meetings, and resident opinion collection procedures. The implementation period is four years until 2026.

The goal is the realization of ‘Harmony and Change! A Happy Jangseong for Residents.’ It aims to expand various social safety nets and build a sustainable social security foundation through the concretization of detailed projects.

At this 2nd meeting, the performance of 43 detailed projects reviewed at the 1st meeting held in April was examined, and the annual implementation plan for next year was approved.

The 2024 annual implementation plan focused on reflecting the changed local community conditions based on the direction and execution contents of the 5th Community Social Security Plan.

Mayor Kim Han-jong of Jangseong-gun said, “The activities of the community social security council are becoming an important driving force for local community development,” adding, “We will join forces with the council to establish a tight social safety net and bring forward a true era of residents’ happiness.”
