Yeongdeok-gun Hosts '2023 Forest Care Day' Event
43 Billion Won Budget Invested in 1,500ha Forest Project
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the ‘2023 Forest Care Day’ event on the 23rd at the Forest Ecological Park in Changpo-ri, Yeongdeok-eup, coinciding with the November forest care period and including a wildfire prevention campaign.
Held under clear autumn weather, about 60 participants from forestry-related organizations and local residents took part in activities such as applying solid fertilizer to landscaping trees like pine and metasequoia, pruning branches, and cleaning the surrounding environment within the Forest Ecological Park.
Kim Dong-hee, Deputy Governor of Yeongdeok, said, “Planting trees is important, but now the bigger challenge is how to properly nurture and manage what has been planted. We will continue to promote ongoing forest care projects to create healthy forests and be more thorough in wildfire prevention to protect and preserve our precious forest heritage.”
