Contributing to Eliminating Alleyway Blind Spots, Plans to Strengthen Safety Through Regular Patrols
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has carried out an "Improvement of Lighting in Dark Alleyways" to enhance pedestrian safety for residents.
The improvement areas are the alleys around Ttukdo Substation in Jayang-dong and Exit 4 of Guui Station. In both locations, the spacing between Korea Electric Power Corporation poles with security lights was wide, causing shadows in various parts of the roads. As a result, complaints were raised about concerns over crime and safety on dark night paths.
In response, the district promptly began lighting improvement work. Additional double-arm security lights with two lamps were installed, with five units set up in front of Ttukdo Substation and four near Guui Station, illuminating the area brightly.
Furthermore, severely aged security lights were replaced with new ones, and their directions were precisely adjusted to eliminate blind spots and ensure thorough lighting.
Going forward, regular patrols and on-site inspections will be conducted to identify areas needing nighttime pedestrian environment improvements, minimizing residents' inconvenience.
