Gwangyang Geumcheon Valley Campground, Quietly Gaining Popularity One Month After Opening
Creating a Romantic Christmas Atmosphere with Santa, Rudolph, and More
Temporary Winter Long-Term Stay Operation Until February Next Year
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that the Geumcheon Valley Campground in Daap-myeon, which opened a month ago, is quietly gaining popularity among campers.
Opened at the end of last month, Geumcheon Valley Campground is attracting a steady stream of campers from nearby areas such as Yeosu and Mokpo, thanks to its clean and beautiful natural environment and the growing trend of outdoor travel.
In its third week of full operation, about 10 teams have visited Geumcheon Valley Campground each week, and 15 teams have already made reservations for this weekend.
The operator, “Forest Street Agricultural Cooperative Corporation,” has created a romantic Christmas atmosphere with decorations like Santa and Rudolph, and plans to operate a limited winter long-term stay program until February next year.
Additionally, they have installed locking devices on all facilities and operate a “Manner Time” to ensure a safe and pleasant camping environment, taking the lead in fostering a high-quality camping culture.
Jung Gu-young, Director of Tourism, said, “The advantage of Geumcheon Valley Campground seems to be its ability to offer rest without disturbance amid beautiful natural scenery and a comfortable camping environment.”
He added, “In the first half of next year, we plan to introduce two caravans to expand options and continuously improve convenience, establishing the campground as a place that drives stay-type tourism and revitalizes the local economy.”
Meanwhile, Geumcheon Valley Campground has 24 auto camping sites (14 deck sites and 10 crushed stone sites) and is equipped with auxiliary facilities such as a management building, parking lot, washbasins, and restrooms.
