Gangnam Severance Hospital Holds Health Lecture on Papillary Thyroid Cancer
Yonsei University Gangnam Severance Hospital announced on the 24th that it will hold a "Thyroid Cancer Health Lecture for Patients, Families, and the General Public" on the 30th at the hospital's 3rd floor auditorium.
This health lecture will cover ▲Latest trends in thyroid surgery (Lee Yong-sang, Head of Thyroid Cancer Center) ▲Thyroid cancer and menopause (Lee Jae-hoon, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology) ▲Management of metabolic syndrome and osteoporosis after thyroid cancer surgery (Son Da-hye, Professor of Family Medicine) ▲Nutritional management after thyroid cancer surgery (Yeo Ji-yeon, Nutritionist) ▲and a Q&A session.
Thyroid cancer ranks first among cancers occurring in Korea. According to the Central Cancer Registry, 11.8% of all cancers diagnosed in Korea in 2020 were thyroid cancer. It was found that the likelihood of occurrence in women was about three times higher than in men, and by age group, it occurred most frequently in the 40s, followed by the 50s and 30s.
