Chosun University Writing Center Successfully Holds Award Ceremony for Excellent Essay Contest
Chosun University recently held an essay contest for current students and conducted an awards ceremony.
According to Chosun University on the 23rd, the Writing Center of the College of Basic Education held the 'Outstanding Essay Contest Awards Ceremony' on the afternoon of the 22nd and presented awards to the students.
This contest was planned to encourage voluntary writing skills improvement among enrolled students and to cultivate their critical thinking and writing abilities regarding social issues.
The Writing Center presented three themes: ▲How I Enjoy Chosun University ▲Self-Management of Generation Z ▲'YouTube' and My Day. A total of 240 students participated, and 33 students received awards.
There was no grand prize winner; three students received the highest award, ten received excellence awards, and twenty received encouragement awards.
The highest award-winning essays were "How to Survive as Generation Z" by Lee Nayeon from the Department of Business Administration, "Know Yourself" by Jang Yeongeun from the Department of Public Administration and Welfare, and "Poison" by Hwang Eunjin from the Department of Pharmacy.
The judging panel consisted of five members, including Cha Seunggi, head of the Writing Center and professor of Korean Language and Literature.

Gwon Haesu, dean of the College of Basic Education, said, "I was deeply moved by the students expressing their experiences during university life through writing," adding, "I congratulate the awardees and hope that writing will always be an activity that accompanies students' lives."
